Buli is named following the buri palm. Alabang is named following the river that passes in the barangay. Ayala Alabang was established by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 out of Barangay Alabang. Sucat acquired its name through the vernacular phrase "sukat", which suggests "measurement" since it was measured during the Spanish period.: the one of the four
